INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Ice and Green Bay Gamblers take to the ice for game two Sunday afternoon at 4:05 pm from the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI. The Ice leads the East Division Finals 1-0 after a 2-1 victory Friday night.
Indiana won their fourth consecutive playoff game and defeated Green Bay in the first game of the East Division Finals for the second straight year. The Ice defeated the Gamblers 5-1 in game one last year and went on to win the series in four games.
Chris Martin and Alex Wideman were the goal scorers in Friday’s opening game victory and Casey DeSmith stopped 29 shots for his fourth consecutive win in net.
DeSmith has been a “rock” between the pipes as he is 4-0 with a league-leading 1.33 goals-against-average and .959 save percentage in his four playoff starts. The four-pack of Max Cook (4G, A), Shane Berschbach (3G, 2A), Nic Dowd (2G, 3A) and Anthony Bitetto (2G, 3A) lead the Ice in playoff scoring, while Brian Ferlin has three points (G, 2A) in his last two games. Bitetto’s five points is tied for first among USHL defensemen.
