ICE TRIO EARN POSTSEASON USHL NODS
TARASOV, KURALY AND OBUCHOWSKI NAMED TO ALL-STAR TEAMS
INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana Ice announced today that forwards Daniil Tarasov and Sean Kuraly and defenseman Ryan Obuchowski were named to the All-USHL postseason teams. Tarasov earned First Team honors while Kuraly and Obuchowski both received Second Team nominations.
This will mark the second season Tarasov has garnered postseason honors as the second-year forward was named to the 2011 USHL All-Rookie Team and Second Team All-USHL.
Tarasov continued to build on his first-year numbers in the 2011-2012 campaign, leading the league in game-winning goals (8) and finishing second in points (88) and goals (47). He also set new franchise marks for career goals (84), career game-winning goals (16) and goals in a season (47).
Earning Second Team honors for Indy were Kuraly and Obuchowski. Kuraly, a San Jose Sharks draft pick, finished the season tied for fourth in the league in points (70) and second on the Ice in points and assists (38). Kuraly will be joining former teammates Blake Coleman, Alex Wideman and John Doherty at Miami (OH) University in the fall.
Obuchowski became a defensive force for the Ice in his second year, finishing the season second among USHL blueliners in points (41) and assists (34). In addition to his on-ice production, Obuchowski was named the team captain midway through the 2011-2012 stanza. He will lace up his skates for the Yale Bulldogs this season.
The Indiana Ice will be hosting their 2012 Main Camp June 14-17 at the Indiana/World Skating Academy atPanAmPlaza. The camp is by invitation only and viewing is open to the public. Scrimmages will be on Friday and Saturday starting at 8 am with an All-Star game on Sunday morning.
