SCRIMMAGES HELD AT PAN AM PLAZA, OPEN TO SPECTATORS

INDIANAPOLIS—The future of Indiana Ice hockey returns to the “Circle City” this weekend when the Ice host their annual Main Camp this weekend at the Indiana/World Skating Academy (Pan Am Plaza) in downtown Indianapolis.  The camp will also mark the debut of recently named head coach Ron Gay, who will be on hand to begin crafting together the 2012-13 Ice roster.

The camp will feature some of the top junior-level hockey talent from around the world, including returning Ice players and draftees.  The camp has also been a “gold mine” for undrafted players as the Ice have found many gems at their past main camps including past Ice stars such as Torey Krug (Boston-NHL), Cameron Schilling (Hershey-AHL), Garrett Roe (Adirondack-AHL), Brian Ferlin (Cornell), Nick Bailen (RPI) and Kevin Goumas (New Hampshire) to name a few.

Participation in the camp is by invitation only while scrimmages are open to spectators and begin at 8:00 am on Friday and Saturday.  The camp concludes with the annual All-Star game with the puck set to drop Sunday at 10 am.

Fans can also join the Indiana Ice on Friday from 4:30-6:30 pm and Saturday from 2:00-4:00 pm for the “Main Camp Block Party” on Georgia Street.  The event will feature live music and food as well as games and prizes.

The Indiana Ice is now taking deposits for 2012-2013 season ticket packages.  Call the Ice office at 317-925-4423 or visit www.indianaice.com.

The Indiana Ice is a member of the United States Hockey League, America’s only Tier One League.
