The inaugural Indiana Ice House/Rec Winter Showcase was a fun time for all as 13 teams encompassing four divisions participated in the three-day tourney that ran from 12/29-12/31. After battles on Tuesday and Wednesday, the championships for the four divisions took place at Conseco Fieldhouse before the Ice's 6:05 pm against the Chicago Steel.

Conseco Thursday

Girls Division- The Fishers Purple People Eaters received two goals apiece from Haley Molchan and Ali Sinnett and defeated the Carmel Crush 7-2 in the first of four games from the Fieldhouse. Zoey Schilling had the win between the pipes for Fishers.

Pee Wee Division- The Fishers Dark Knights received a two-goal afternoon from Kevin Freije and a four-assist performance from Josh DeVries in a 6-2 win over the Carmel IceDawgs. Winning goaltender for the Dark Knights was Trevor Compton.

Mites Division- Brett Liebross earned the hat trick (three goals), while teammate Teddy Munn added two goals and an assist as the Carmel Red Wings defeated the Fishers Devils 7-2. Colin Nasser was the winning goaltender for the Wings.

Squirts Division- The finale of the four championships was a spectacular contest with a dramatic finish as the Pepsi Coliseum edged the Fishers Black Hawks 6-5 in a game that was decided in the sixth round of a shootout. The Coliseum crew received a hat trick (three goals) from Andrew Fralich and a two goal, one assist afternoon from Jack Bain. Mason Manifold earned the win in net. Sean Bird had a pair of goals for the Black Hawks.

During the first intermission of the Ice and Steel match-up, 17 players took part in the Breakaway Challenge. Participants included:
