FORWARD BAILLARGEON EARNS TEAM EAST MVP WITH TWO GOAL EFFORT

The Indiana Ice made a bold statement in the inaugural USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game as forward Robbie Baillargeon and Robert Polesello and goaltender Jon Gillies played pivotal roles in Team East’s 5-3 win over Team West in Muskegon, MI.

Baillargeon stole the show with back-to-back lamplighters in the first and second period.  The Boston University prospect has taken off in his freshman USHL year, currently ranking third on the team with 31 points (11G, 20A).

Polesello added an assist on Nicholas Schilkey’s goal in the second period to give Team East their first lead of the game.  The Bolton, Ontario native is also committed to Boston University and has come on strong in the second half of the season, earning points in six of his last seven games.

Gillies contributed to the victory with a solid showing in net for Team East, stopping 19 of 20 shots in just under 30 minutes of action.  The Northeastern University commit leads the league in many categories including wins (19), saves (808) and save percentage (.926) while being considered one of the top North American prospects for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in June.
