ICE PROSPECT SELECTED FOR FIVE NATIONS TOURNAMENT
FORT WAYNE-NATIVE BLAKE SIEBENALER TO REPRESENT USA SQUAD IN CZECH REPUBLIC
The Indiana Ice announced today that Indy prospect Blake Siebenaler has been selected for the U.S. Under-17 Selects team for the Five Nations Tournament. The tournament runs from August 7-11 in Chomutov, Kadan and Klasterec, Czech Republic.
Siebenaler was selected by Indy in the second round of the 2012 USHL Futures Draft. The Fort Wayne native and Ice affiliate player finished the 2011-2012 season with the Cleveland Barons U16 squad, recording 12 points (5G, 7A) while tending the Barons’ blueline.
“He is a naturally-gifted skater who can really open up the ice,” said Ice head coach and general manager Ron Gay. “We’re looking forward to watching him progress as a hockey player. I’m very excited for him to have this opportunity.”
The Five Nations Tournament features top 17-and-under players from the United States, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Switzerland. Several players with Ice connections including forwards Brian Morgan (11-12), Adam Erne (10-11) and Alex Gacek (10-11) have represented Team USA in the tournament.
The Indiana Ice is now taking deposits for 2012-2013 season ticket packages. Call the Indiana Ice Office at 317-925-4423 for more information.
