BAILLARGEON TO GO FOR GOLD IN WORLD JR. CHALLENGE
EQUIPMENT MANAGER FLINCHEM NAMED TO STAFF FOR SIXTH STRAIGHT YEAR
INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana Ice announced today that forward Robbie Baillargeon has been selected to represent the United States at the World Jr. A Championships in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia from November 5-11.
Baillargeon heads into the tournament tied for second in the league in assists (6) and leading the Ice in points (7). The Ottawa Senators prospect returns to Indy after finishing third on the team in points (48) during the 2011-2012 campaign. He joins 20 other USHL players on the U.S. squad that has won a medal in five of six previous tournaments, including gold medal performances in three of the last four years.
Joining Baillargeon in Nova Scotia is the Ice’s Director of Team Services, Darrin Flinchem. Flinchem has become a mainstay on the U.S. bench after being named to the team staff for the sixth consecutive season.
This will be the seventh annual tournament and features some of the top junior talent from around the world. Teams represented this year include the United States, Canada West, Canada East, Sweden, Russia and Czech Republic.
The Ice close out their six-game road trip on Friday against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders before returning to the “Circle City” for a RoughRiders rematch on Saturday at Pan Am Plaza. Saturday’s puck is set to drop at 7:05 pm.
Indy opens the Bankers Life Fieldhouse portion of their schedule on Friday, November 9 against Green Bay. The game is slated to begin at 7:05 pm and is presented by BMO Harris Bank.
Single-game tickets start at $11 for Bankers Life Fieldhouse games and general admission tickets for Pan Am Plaza games are $10. There is a $2 discount for children 10 and under and seniors 62 and over.
