The Shelby Township, MI native was tendered by the Indiana Ice prior to the 2012 USHL Futures Draft and currently plays for the Detroit Honeybaked U16 squad.  In 24 games with Honeybaked, Jacobs logged 17 points (3G, 14A) while tending the blueline, including several multiple-point efforts.  He also played alongside fellow Ice prospect Adam Baughman for Team USA in the 2012 Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria.

In addition to being tendered with the Ice, Jacobs has also committed to playing college hockey at Michigan State University in the fall of 2014.  Many players with Indiana Ice ties have advanced to and through the Spartans, including Ice prospect Justin Bailey and former Iceman and current Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug.

Several other USHL stars including Indy-native and Toronto defenseman John-Michael Liles (NTDP) and Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader (Cedar Rapids) also donned the green and white before beginning their NHL careers.  Current Ice defenseman R.J Boyd is committed to playing college hockey at Michigan State starting in the fall of 2012.
